Booka Ducka Ding Dong
You walk while Booka paces a branching audiobook against route progress. At a decision, you choose with buttons or—in Movement beta—through a sustained change in walking direction. A loop keeps its original start as its finish while the remaining route adapts after each choice; timing, routing, and Movement inference remain beta features.
Booka Ducka Ding Dong turns a real walk into a branching audiobook. It plans a return-to-start route, paces scenes against progress, asks meaningful left-or-right questions, remembers the consequences, and saves the finished story and walked route for replay.
01What you can test
- A free Featured Quest targeting about 40 minutes and defaulting to a return-to-start loop. Finished ElevenLabs duration and real-world route timing are still being validated.
- Custom AI-generated stories targeting 15–60 minutes. The selected duration is a generation and routing target, not a guaranteed finished runtime.
- Buttons or Movement beta for choices, with Buttons always available as the manual authority.
- Adaptive route replacement after a Buttons or Movement choice: the old remaining line and instructions retire, replanning begins from current GPS, and a loop keeps its original finish.
- Persistent 0.75×, 1×, 1.25×, 1.5×, 1.75×, and 2× audiobook playback speed.
- Optional on-device procedural ambience while cloud narration loads or an early arrival creates a pacing gap.
- Local walking-pace learning after three qualifying walks, plus measured timing, pace, and route-update summaries in Library.
- A persistent audiobook player, lock-screen controls, local Library, replay, and offline audio.
- Separate story, narration, and cover-art provenance in Library release and completed-story details.
02How the AI is labeled
Creation facts are independent. A story can be human-authored and synthetically narrated; an AI-generated story can use human-created cover art.
Booka Ducka original names the publisher, not the authoring method. The current Featured story’s AI-versus-human authorship remains labeled unverified until its creation record is documented.

03The honest route caveat
Booka is an entertainment app, not navigation or a safety service. Movement beta detects a sustained change in walking direction; it does not prove that a particular street is a legal or safe turn. A directional story choice is not a promise that a matching walking route exists. If retries cannot find a reasonable checkpoint, Booka says so and may use a direct route to the unchanged finish. Follow laws, signs, conditions, and your own judgment. Stop and use Buttons whenever looking at or handling the phone would be unsafe.
